COUNCIL MEETING RECAP – TUESDAY, MARCH 3, 2020
Woodlands County Council discussed the following items at their regular scheduled meeting:
The Blue Ridge Fire Department, on behalf of the four volunteer fire departments in Woodlands County, has applied for funding from Pembina Pipeline Corporation Community Grants. Woodlands County Council is providing a letter of support for the purchase and acquisition of new respiratory equipment. SCBA respiratory equipment is critical to the operation of fire departments, and the grant funding will support the replacement costs of the modernization project.
Woodlands County has awarded the Township Road 590 Slope Repair project to Unsurpassable Construction Ltd. Construction is set to commence on March 16, 2020, and will last four to six weeks. The use of alternate routes is requested (Groat Creek Rd.) during this time to avoid travel along Twp. Rd. 590.
The Community Services Committee has a vacant member-at-large position, whose term expires on October 31, 2021. All interested parties are to submit their letter of interest to Woodlands County.
