Hamlet of Blue Ridge Area Structure Plan (ASP)

PROJECT INTRODUCTION & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Share your thoughts on the future of Blue Ridge! We are hosting an open house and conducting a survey, and you’re welcome to participate in both.

Woodlands County is developing an Area Structure Plan (ASP) for the Hamlet of Blue Ridge and is inviting residents to provide input on this long-range community planning document.

The purpose of community engagement is to understand how residents want the Hamlet of Blue Ridge to look like over time. We want to learn what residents value about the community today and what they would like to see in the future.

What are Area Structure Plans?

Woodlands County's Area Structure Plans (ASPs)s are documents approved by Council as Bylaws.

ASPs provide a framework that articulates the following:

  • proposed land uses;
  • population densities;
  • sequence of development;
  • general location of major roadways;
  • public utilities in the area;
  • and any additional requirements that Council may require.

The objectives of Area Structure Plans are to:

  • Establish the sequence of development proposed for the area;
  • Establish land uses proposed for the area, either generally or with respect to specific parts of the area; and
  • Identify the general location of major transportation routes and public utilities.
