🚨SPRING RUNOFF ADVISORY🚨From the River Forecast Centre (RFC)
Warmer temperatures this weekend are expected to accelerate snowmelt across central and north-central Alberta. With above-average snowpack, this may lead to:
• Localized ponding in low-lying areas
• Rising water levels in creeks and streams
• Possible ice jams, where water levels can change quickly
Residents are asked to:
✔ Monitor areas prone to flooding
✔ Check and report blocked or frozen culverts
✔ Use caution near waterways, especially where ice remains
While mountain snowmelt is expected to be gradual, conditions can change quickly in smaller water systems.
